This Privacy Policy explains how EDUBUS UNICON PRIVATE LIMITED ("Mentorbox", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Mentorbox AI mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the App:

a) Information you provide

• Mobile number — required to create your account and sign in via a one-time password (OTP). We do not use passwords.
• Profile details — such as your name, class/batch, target exam year, and study goal, which you enter to personalise the App.
• Content you submit — your test answers, study-planner entries, bookmarks, flagged questions, and any messages, questions, or files/images you choose to upload to our AI doubt-solving feature.

b) Information collected automatically

• Authentication token — after you sign in, a secure session token (JWT) is stored encrypted on your device to keep you logged in.
• Usage and performance data — your test attempts, scores, accuracy, and study progress, which power your analytics.
• Diagnostics and crash data — if the App crashes or errors, technical diagnostic information may be collected via our error-monitoring provider (Sentry) to help us fix problems.
• Technical data — standard information such as your IP address and device/app version, received by our servers when the App communicates with them.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photo library, microphone, or financial information.

How we use your information

• To create and secure your account and sign you in (OTP verification).
• To provide the App's features — practice tests, mock tests, study planner, progress analytics, bookmarks, and AI-assisted doubt solving.
• To personalise your experience (e.g., your name, target year, and recommendations).
• To maintain, debug, and improve the App's stability and performance.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect against misuse or fraud.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

Service providers who help us operate the App, including:

• Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — crash and error diagnostics.
• Our hosting/back-end infrastructure and the DeepTutor AI service that powers doubt solving.
• Legal/authorities — where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

These providers process data only on our behalf and under appropriate safeguards.

Data storage and security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encrypted on-device storage of your session token. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see below); we will delete it except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to withdraw consent. To delete your account and data, email tech@mentorbox.ai as described on our Account & Data Deletion page (https://mentorbox.ai/account-deletion). For any other privacy request, email support@mentorbox.ai.

Children's privacy

The App is intended for students preparing for the NEET examination. If you are under 18, you should use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children in violation of applicable law; if you believe a minor has provided data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will address it.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
